About Me

My name is Tracey Hill. I am a Nurse and work at York District Hospital. So why did I start this blog? Because in May 2016 I cycled across the USA. This was an adventure and exploration as I have never challenged myself on such a large scale. The adventure took me 4001 miles across the USA on a bike and there were some tricky obstacles to overcome. However, I wasn’t cycling alone (thankfully), as my partner Andy will be with me. This is a joint and massive effort for both of us. It’s not going to be a walk in the park because neither of us are experienced cyclists (but we soon will be).

Andy and I met 3 years ago and early in the relationship I soon discovered Andy lived and breathed Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders)! MSF is very important to Andy and is is a major part of his daily conversation. To date, he has raised over £60,000. Therefore, it’s not surprising that I have started raising funds for MSF too and have raised nearly £3,000 since January this year! As they say, if you can’t beat them … Join them in an adventure!

So, on 20th May 2016, Andy and I set off to cycle 4001 miles across 14 states of America. The idea sounds crazy but I have no hesitations and I am very much looking forward to the adventure.

If your team, department or company wants to back my efforts, I’d love to come and give you a short presentation. It will give you a taste of MSF’s inspirational work and give you an insight into the extraordinary 4001-mile challenge I’m setting myself. I’ve spoken to universities, schools and businesses in the past, so I promise it won’t be boring!
